Polymer Concentration Control
The POLYSMART (download brochure) will monitor, correct and archive the polymer concentration levels in up to six quench tanks on a continuously rotating schedule.

• Quench tanks are continuously checked, corrected by automatically adding water and polymer and archiving polymer use as well as concentration results.

The PolySmart is programmed with a proprietary algorithm that takes into account the fluid’s properties to determine if the concentration of the fluid is within +/- 1/2% of set point. The algorithm is unique to the fluid being controlled. PolySmart will also datalog the concentration at each quench tank and include the value in your SPC charts.
Sequence of Operation
If the tank sample indicates that additional polymer or water is needed, the delivery system will activate the polymer or water pump, open its control valve and pump the proper amount of polymer or water through a flow meter to the return line of the correct quench tank. The amount of polymer added is recorded by a flow meter and monitored by the PLC, allowing for better tracking of polymer usage.
