Hot Oil Circulation heaters require additional design considerations to assure continuous leak-free operation. Any system operating continuously above 275°F should be piped using flanged connections.
Threaded connections, which are adequate for lower temperatures, tend to “weep” oil at elevated temperature and should be avoided for any hot oil or marquenching applications. The circulating pumps can also be prone to premature failure when not applied properly.
An optional BAG CRANE is available to help in filter changing.

Hot Oil Pump
Cyclone Circulator Hot Oil pumps are designed to operate up to 650°F with no auxillary cooling. This specially designed pump utilizes a carbon heat isolator to shield heat from migrating to the motor bearings. This important feature coupled with a totally-enclosed fan cooled motor and flanged connections assures years of trouble-free operation. All Cyclone Circulators come equipped with Viton elastomers as standard equipment.

Hot Oil Valve
It is important to avoid threaded connections on any system operating above 275°F. Although flanged valves and pumps and welded and flanged piping are more expensive initially they will afford years of leak proof service.
